Following several calls and texts from friends wanting suggestions on where I think they can go to have a swell time during this season, I reached out to a few friends for help via contributions.
This list was what I was able to come up with and I sincerely hope you find it helpful.
1. Lufasi Nature Park
If you’re a fan of walking through nature, taking in the fresh air; a sharp contrast to the polluted air in the heart of the city then you’ll love this park.
The Lufasi Park (Lekki Urban Forest Animal Sanctuary Initiative) is located along the Lekki-Epe expressway at Majek bus stop.
A picnic will be the nicest thing to do in the park,
Gate fee: N1000 for Adult, N500 for Children
2. Jaekel House
Jaekel House is one of the underrated places to visit in Lagos. One will definitely appreciate the architecture design of the house when one visits.
It’s a 2-storey colonial mansion in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria. The building was renovated and restored by Professor John Godwin in collaboration with the Railway Corporation in 2010. The building is now a “mini-museum” showcasing photographic archives.
3. Omu resort
Since everybody will be around and there’s something for everybody, Omu resort is the best bet with multiple attractions in one location.
Located in Omu Resort, Bogije Town, Almost Opp. Lakowe Lakes Golf Course, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
Gold ticket 4,000, Platinum ticket N7,000, Prime Ticket N9,000, Superprime Ticket N16,500.
All tickets category gives access to different attractions within the facility.
4. Makoko Community
Makoko is a neighbourhood across the 3rd Mainland Bridge located on the coast of mainland Lagos, accessible through Sabo, Yaba.
It’s a huge surprise seeing kids not up to 12 rowing a canoe, the living condition and all. Makoko is a place you visit to get different perspectives about life.
Don’t just visit, go with items like used clothes, food and anything you can help with.
The community is free for all to access

5. The Kalakuta Museum
It’s different from every other experience you’d have anywhere else.
The museum provides a glimpse into Fela’s life and inexhaustible memory. It is Located on Gbemiola Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
You either can have a filled day exploring the rooms In the museum for items of like dresses, rack of shoes and household materials or hanging out at the rooftop. You can pass the night inside one of the 5 rooms available within the premises If you’ve got more than a day to spare. The entrance fee to the Museum is N500.
6. NOIR RESTAURANT
Located in 4a Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria IslandLagos, Nigeria, the ambiance of the Restaurant and the amazing French cuisine is one that would ignite the magic this festive season. It gives an unparalleled and seamless sensation within its beautiful space. The meals are well served and created. I especially recommend the Noir Linguine with Prawns, Truffle Oil, White Wine, Cream and Garlic. Every bite is a memory to remember!
Relatively’ the cost of food is somewhat high, but the experience will make up for it.
7. Shodex Gardens
I think this is the one many people don’t know and is especially useful for mainland peeps that’ll value a pool since it’s got for both adults and children. The play area for children, a small zoo and even the restaurant will delight every fun-seeker looking to make the best out of this Christmas.
It is located at 251/253, Ikorodu Road, Anthony Lagos ( a stone throw away from Maryland mall).
N1,000 is the cost of entry and you are allowed to bring in your own food.
8. The House
If you’re looking for good vibes and a chilled night out, this is where you should be. Even if it’s just a lazy afternoon out, this is the perfect spot. The House offers you a host of things: good food, shisha, and drinks. It’s really not that different from a regular place that sells good Ofada rice and nice cocktails but the ambiance is so great you feel like you’re visiting a friend.
Located in 4, A.J. Marinho Dr, Victoria Island, Lagos
Food prices are fairly affordable.
9. Hi-Impact Planet
Hi-impact Planet is a world-class amusement park with thrilling outdoor rides and exciting indoor games positioned for children, teenagers, and the whole family to have a fun-filled experience.
The only downside is its location at km 12 Lagos – Ibadan Expy, Ibafo but the amazing experience will surely make up for it!
Access tickets range from N5,000 to N20,000 depending on the category.
10. Badagry
Badagry is a coastal town and local government area in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is between the city of Lagos and the border with Benin at Seme.
If you’re a fan of black history, fun attractions to see in Badagry include the first story building in Nigeria which houses the first translated bible and well in Nigeria; the Badagry Heritage Museum, and the point of no return.
Each of the attractions ranges from N200-N500 to access.
